keep it simple, and if you want to always be able to keep your friendship, jsut ask if you can meet somehwre, or hangout.

Idk how old you are but here’s some options
high school-ask her to a dance
older than high school-ask her to eat lunch, get coffee, or just hang out somewhere
with all of those, you can kind of get a feel for what she thinks about the situation, and then you can either continue to just be friends, or take the next step and ask her out again or ask her to be your girlfriend
